When you lift your net from the water, be amazed at the innumerable sea-fireflies inside. Why not come and take a peek at the sea at night, something you will seldom see? This unique Minamiboso experience will delight people of all ages.
Sea-fireflies, a relative of the water flea, are a type of small bioluminescent sea creature measuring around 3 mm. There creatures are nocturnal, and emit a bright blue light when encountering a predator. This light is so strong that it can be seen clearly with the naked eye, and was apparently used for military purposes during wartime. This tour, in which you may encounter mysterious and astonishing sea creatures, is popular with a wide range of people, from families to photographers who upload their photos onto social media. (This program is held on a pier in a fishing port and does not involve boarding a boat.)
