On this program, a local guide will accompany you on a trekking course which is open throughout the year and suitable for beginners. When you reach the summit, with views boasting a striking contrast between sea and forest, you will be treated to a delicious cup noodle with a local flavor.
Mt. Tomi is said to the setting of Nanso Satomi Hakkenden, an epic novel by Kyokutei Bakin familiar to everyone in Japan. On this program, a local trekking guide will take you on a leisurely climb of this mountain. Included is a delicious cup noodle with a local flavor, which you will enjoy on the summit amid panoramic views of Tokyo Bay. And if you are lucky enough to climb on a clear and sunny day, you may even see the majestic Mt. Fuji on the horizon.

Halfway up Mt. Tomi, the setting of Nanso Satomi Hakkenden, is a small cave called Fusehime Roketsu. Pass through the entrance gate and climb the steps, and you will find a large rock called “Inuzuka,” dedicated to Yatsufusa, one of the characters in this book. This break in your ascent will give you a feel for this epic novel.
